Guest Post: Simply Lacey's Fashion Essentials

Hi All! my name is Lacey and I created the blog http://www.simplylacey.blogspot.com/. It has since become my baby where I blog daily about the Fashion Industry, things that make me happy and my opinion on certain things all fashion related. Today I am guest blogging on the wonderful blog Miss Couture 17 and will discuss the items I think every woman should own to help create a wonderful wardrobe and help any woman build up a basic wardrobe. Throughout my post I want you to remember that your style is much different than mine as it is a very personal expression of who you are and how you want people to view you and every piece can be altered to your own tastes.

 My first piece I think is a mandatory item is a little black dress. This is one of my favourite go-tos as it can be altered and worn many different ways! You can wear this strapless, with sleeves, belted, tight fitting, and is a universally flattering piece because there is always a black dress out there for any body types.  One of the best features of the little black dress is that it will never go out of style, and we have Coco Chanel to thank for that! 

The most used item in my closet is my plain white tees, which are my next essential. Any basic, solid colored shirt is a good basic item that you can build your wardrobe off of. Plain tees are inexpensive and easy to find anywhere. I think the best colors to invest in are black, white, brown, navy and grey t-shirts as they are simply, casual and can be worn with basically anything.

Something I think is necessary in any wardrobe is jeans. No matter what your body type is there is a style for you! They are great for anything as they can be dressed up with a pair of heels or dressed down with a tank top. My favourite pair is a dark wash as they are slimming and a bit more fancy then the typical jeans. When shopping for a pair of jeans find a pair that fits you well and one that is your size! so many women buy jeans that are either to big or to small for them so try on multiple jeans to see what fits best. These will be the most simple thing and casual item in your closet,and probably the most used! 

Every lady needs a pair of fabulous black heels! Whether you prefer sky-high,mid, or kitten heels they need to look great, but still manage to be comfortable. If you're wearing them as office wear for work, or a cocktail party, you need to find something that is practical but still a pair of heels that you love. You can find a basic pair just about anywhere but if you are really looking into a comfortable yet sexy, classy pair of shoes you should look into a more expensive, designer shoes. Although they cost more they are a major investment that will go with everything and get a lot of love!

My favourite thing to throw on is a classic blazer. It is the best layering piece, although most people think of it as an item that should be worn only for work or special occasions I believe that a blazer is a great everyday item. It is a great combination between masculine and feminine and can be worn in any colour. Black is the best as it can be worn with most items but I also like a light pink or a soft grey. You can find a basic blazer with a simple cut but if your looking for something more you can find detailed buttons or add you own embellishments like pins or ribbon.

   

Lastly, my favourite accessory that I carry with me everywhere is a purse. I personally splurge on bags as I see them as investments because they are an everyday necessity. If it is a classic style then it will last you a lifetime that you could pass on for generations. For more on the best investment bags check out my blog later this week! When looking to spend a lot of money on a bag make sure you buy it from a reliable source and if buying vintage make sure it is legitimate and comes with product codes.
