Look How Fast The Time Has Flown: Prom Dress 2012!

Sorry this picture is such bad quality, taken/cropped on my iPad
 Hey everyone!
So, after months and months of procrastination I finally decided to go out and purchase myself a prom dress.  I spent hours with a very kind employee with fabulously bright lipstick at Want Boutique trying on oodles of prom dresses.  After a lot of consideration, i decided that I wanted one that would stand out...something unique, and fun.

When i first started thinking about prom and my 'perfect dress', I thought of something long and elegant with a very classic cut in either white or champagne.  Nothing conspicuous. But when i got there and started trying on dresses, both myself, my mother, and the sweet sales lady noticed that in the short, fun, unique dresses I would come out smiling and dancing and just have fun, and that's when I realized that what I initially wanted didn't make me feel like, well, me.

It's funny because the dress I ended up purchasing was the first one i saw when i walked into the store, and i thought it looked hideous when i first saw it, but I actually LOVE how it looks when i put it on.  I know that i'm pairing it with silver stilettos and minimal jewelry...maybe diamond earrings and a necklace, and definitely Viva La Juicy as my fragrance.

The dress is a baby pink color, with a simple bodice with ruching, jeweled belt and, the cool part, hand dyed  feathers on the skirt.  This dress is really fun, girly, and unique and just so different from the classic prom dress.

A few people don't like the feathered skirt, but what do you guys think?  Is the feathered skirt too wonky for your taste, or do you like it?  Let me know!
and what kind of makeup would you pair with this dress?

  6. Eeep! This is beautiful! Very unique and it looks gorgeous on you :3 If it were me I would pair the dress with makeup that had a tasteful helping of glitter(nothing too intense, but maybe a light grey or brown smoky eye with Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity, the loose e/s pigment, patted on top!) I hope you post pics! :)

    1. Thank you Kori! Yes, I completely agree... I feel like this dress could go well with both neutral makeup and something as intense as Michelle Phan's latest prom tutorial, but either way I want to incorporate a bit of tasteful glitter into my eye look...fabulous idea about the Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity e/s!
