Hey Everyone!
Lately I've been trying to take really good care of my hair. I say lately because i used to let it go natural but lately that has become a problem so i straighten my hair on almost a daily basis which means that I've had to take extra precautions to make sure that my hair is protected from that intense heat. I use heat protection and organic shampoos and masks but no matter what I do, I haven't been able to get rid of frizz. Frizz can only be described as the Green Goblin to my Spider man...the Joker to my Batman...the limit to my credit card. Nothing, and i mean nothing has ever helped to smooth down that frizz and make my hair look and feel soft and shiny...enter Paul Mitchell's Smoothing Serum.

Scent: 5/5 (in my opinion!)
Consistency: 5/5
Cost: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5
Overall quality of this product: 19/20
This product smooths my hair, makes it feel silky and it really does make your hair dry quicker. I think this is a fantastic product and i recommend it to anyone having an issue with flyaways and frizz. To go along with my dorky super hero references above, this product is definitely the Super man to my Lois Lane.

What it is
This can be applied to either damp or dry hair by applying it and finger combing through your hair to the ends until you have an even coverage. When applied to damp hair it cuts the drying time in half as well as smooths and softens your hair. I personally apply this before i straighten my hair after my heat protectant has dried so that the finished product after I've straightened my hair is smooth and silky. It is $16 US and $22 CND which may seem expensive for .85 OZ of product but considering it is a high end brand and it does exactly what it says it does, i think it's definitely worth the investment.
Consistency
It feels greasy and is very light weight. As long as you use the right amount for your hair length it will not make your hair look or feel greasy. About one pump should do. It's a clear liquid so it doesn't leave any funky color or consistency on your hair. I've been using this product for 7 months and i've never had an issue with the consistency.
Scent
Oh my gosh you guys, it smells like, i don't know if it's melon or apple or kind of an infusion of the two but it smells amazing. It leaves a very light fragrance in your hair for about an hour but it fades. I think it smells divine but obviously you need to smell it before you purchase it if something like scent could be a make or break deal for you. I know many people who think it smells great but i also know people who think it's the most disgusting scent ever, so that's something you'll have to check out for yourself.

*Not sponsored, bought this myself! Review is based on my 7 month experience with the product. Picture is from google*
*This can be purchased at Ulta or any salon or retailer that sells Paul Mitchell. For all you lovely Canadians reading this, don't make the same mistake as me...Shoppers does NOT sell this.*
Great review Kelsey! My only criticism is don't feel bad for not posting a review every day. Your readers won't get mad at you for it. You post great reviews and I have a feeling you'll make it one day, just keep up the good work. Also, can you do a review on nars deep throat please? Much appreciated
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input and compliment Sammy. I'll be sure to take that into consideration next time i'm gone for a few days, haha. To answer your question, I'll be sure to do an in depth review on that particular blush very soon! Until then, i have a quick little blurb about NARS deep throat blush in my NARS starter kit so be sure to check that out. Thank you for taking the time out to read my blog, heart you! - Kels
