NOTD: Sephora by OPI - 'New Years Red-Solution'

Hey Everyone,
Today's NOTD is 'New Years Red-Solution' from the Sephora by OPI 'Glimmer Wonderland' collection.  This varnish is a metallic golden red with gold micro glitter.  The varnish in the bottle has gold veining, which refused to be captured on camera and doesn't show up on the nails! This nail polish is very opaque, I only applied one coat in the above picture.  I love this color as i've never owned anything similar, and it's absolutely perfect for the holidays!

Are you looking to pick up anything from the 'Glimmer Wonderland' collection?

NOTD: Ocean Love Potion + Gold Dust

Hey Everyone!
While going through a desk in my bedroom I found my old Sally Hansen Gold Dust glitter over coat.  I was ecstatic to find this because I had previously been contemplating purchasing a gold glitter over coat from OPI.  I decided to pair Gold Dust with 'Ocean Love Potion', a stunning cool 'Mediterranean turquoise' from the Sephora by OPI line.  What I love about 'Gold Dust' is that the chunks of glitter are small enough that Ocean Love Potion still shows through.  I think that the two of these paired together look really good.

NOTD: Essie Sugar Daddy

Hey Everyone!
Today's NOTD is a very interesting one.  The formulation for this varnish is very sheer and very thin.  What that means is that when you apply the first coat is looks like a milky top coat, providing absolutely no color, only shine.  Due to that fact, Sugar Daddy was a polish in my collection which never got much use.  Tonight, I realized that Sugar Daddy is a  milky very neutral pink on the nails if several coats are applied.  On my nails below i've applied a base coat, and 6...yes 6 coats of Sugar Daddy.  I like how it's really subtle on the nails, yet very feminine looking.  I think I'll definitely be wearing this previously neglected varnish more often.

What do you think of 'Sugar Daddy'?  Let me know below!

NOTD: Essie Russian Roulette

Hey Everyone!
Today's NOTD is Essie Russian Roulette, a bright creamy orange toned red.  I absolutely love wearing this color.  I feel like it's the type of varnish that you can get away with wearing year long.  With this particular color, you can get away with applying one coat if you're in a rush since it is fairly opaque and dries quickly.  For full opacity, i would recommend 2 coats which is what I've applied in the below photo (along with OPI top coat).   The formula on Russian Roulette is fantastic and it doesn't streak.  My only problem with it is that it chips very easily.

What do you think of Russian Roulette? What's your favorite red nail varnish? Let me know below, and have a great day!

NOTD: Chanel le Vernis - 483 Vendetta

Hey everyone!
With Fall just around the corner, i thought that now was the time to start stocking up on deeper toned varnishes for Fall/Winter.  Although it's still August, i've found myself reaching for the beautiful Vendetta, a vampy, eggplant purple with tons of red micro glitter in it.

NOTD: "Pretty in Pink"

 Hey Everyone!
As you all know, lately I've become obsessed with color blocking my nails.  I haven't seen too many people in Toronto doing it, so for me, it's become a unique and signature look.  For my post on how to color block, click here.

Today, i paired two of my favorite pink nail polishes together...Sweetheart, which is a pale neutral pink and Elephantastic Pink, a beautiful bold medium pink.

NOTD: lucky lucky spender + How To: color block

 Hey everyone!
Lately I've noticed that color blocking has become the latest trend, not only for clothing, but on your nails as well.  If you don't know what color blocking is, it's basically where you paint your nails bold colors that are complimentary to each other.  Most popular is painting every nail one color and your ring finger another color.

NOTD: Sephora by OPI 'Cover me in Petals'

Hey Everyone!
Today's NOTD is 'Cover me in Petals' by Sephora for OPI.  I think that this is the most perfect nail varnish for Summer time.  It is a stunning and vibrant tangerine red and coral fusion. Everybody knows that bright colors will always be in when it comes to Summer time, but sometimes older women can't pull of bright and vibrant blues and greens or fluorescent pinks simply because it looks too 'immature'. (Although i say you're never too old for a bright and fun nail color).  Does this mean that they should miss out on the trend?  No. This color is bright, but also fairly sophisticated as it has a red hue to it, therefore i feel that it's appropriate for all ages and for all events.  This is a color that i could see myself wearing to the beach, but also to a semi formal dinner.

NOTD! OPI Sweetheart

I mention today's NOTD all the time, and it is OPI Sweetheart.  It's a beautiful pink toned neutral and one of my all time favorite neutral nail varnishes.
It comes out as a kind of milky sheer on the first coat so you need approximately 3 coats for complete opacity.

What do you think of this nail varnish?

NPOTD! Essie Turquoise and Caicos

I was a little shaky, I fixed it as best as i could.  Natural Light.
Hey Everyone!
I was outside enjoying the beautiful weather today when i decided to do a nail of the day!  Today's color is the ever so popular Turquoise and Caicos by Essie from their Resort 2010 collection.  This is a beautiful kind of Tiffany blue, and as i mentioned in my May favorites, it's my most worn polish ever which is why it's already a little more than half done. (sigh).  I wouldn't say that it is 100% Tiffany blue, it's a little more turquoise but it's the closest polish color I've found that is similar to that beautiful robin egg blue.

NPOTD Melon of Troy

OPI Melon of Troy, 3 coats & OPI top coat (1).

Today's NPOTD is from OPI and it's called "Melon of Troy".  It's a gorgeous peachy orange color (I described it as 'cantaloupe-like coral' today to a friend, weird, right?). As you can see in the picture, it is not completely opaque.  Note that after 3 coats you can still some what see the whites of my nails.

Where i live the weather is only just starting to get warm, so I'm still pale but this color really warms up my skin.  I can tell that this is going to be a hit come Summer as it looks absolutely stunning against tan skin.

So, what do you guys think of "cantaloupe coral"?  Do you think it could become a new staple in your Summer nail polish collection?  If not, which nail polishes are?  Leave your response down below.
