May Favorites!

Monthly favorites is a tag done by most beauty gurus on youtube on a monthly basis.  I know that my blog is supposed to be just about reviews but i want it to still be a little personal too.  Although it is a little unorthodox for me to be doing them, monthly favs are kind of like a bunch of mini reviews in one post and they're really helpful too.  So lets get started!

Today I'm going to be reviewing the fairly new Addict lipsticks from Dior.  The color shown in the swatch is Diorkiss 578 and it is the one that Kate Moss is wearing in the advert.  To be quite honest i think that this is going to become a very iconic color for Dior.  These lipsticks come in a total of 59 beautiful shades and retail for $28 US & $31 CND.

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection review

So, as most of you probably know Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides recently came out into theaters.  Being a dedicated POtC fan I have been dying to see it, and tonight I'm finally going to! (If hangover 2 isn't sold out, haha).  As you can imagine, when i saw the POtC OPI collection out i was ecstatic.  

This collection features 6 gorgeous colors inspired by the movie as well as a new silver shattered.  Below I'll post pictures of them and include a description of each.

Hey girlies!  I was hard at work writing some reviews for you and they are all up and ready for me to add links, pictures and to publish.  Today though, i thought I'd do a nail of the day. 

Tonight I'm going out so i originally just put on OPI Sweet heart which is a popular pinky neutral creme color.  My outfit is already neutral though, so i decided to add a little edge to my nails by applying a light layer of black shattered.  As you can see, the colors contrast each other nicely.  I feel like shattered, no matter what color of it, just adds a sexy, edgy feel to any ensemble.

Bare Escentuals Buxom Insider Eyeliner - Onyx

 What's so great about the buxom insider eyeliner is the fact that it's formulated for your waterline/tight line therefore you know 100% that it's safe to use in that area.   It comes in 10 gorgeous shades and retails for $14 US & $18 CND.  I have mixed feelings about this eye liner; sometimes i love it, but sometimes i hate it.  Find out why below.

NPOTD Melon of Troy

Today's NPOTD is from OPI and it's called "Melon of Troy".  It's a gorgeous peachy orange color (I described it as 'cantaloupe-like coral' today to a friend, weird, right?). As you can see in the picture, it is not completely opaque.  Note that after 3 coats you can still some what see the whites of my nails.

Where i live the weather is only just starting to get warm, so I'm still pale but this color really warms up my skin.  I can tell that this is going to be a hit come Summer as it looks absolutely stunning against tan skin.

Laura Mercier silk creme foundation: holy grail or fail.

Hey guys!  So as I've previously mentioned i've been pretty busy with a multidude of assignments and other projects so I've only been able to post a couple review posts.  Today i didn't want to leave you high and dry so I'm doing a very quick review on the famous Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.  Please note that this isn't in the style of my normal reviews, it's basically just a straight up rant that i posted as a review on Sephora, but i thought i should post it here because i think you can see in the way i write it that i was super frustrated and upset by this product.  So yeah, you can find this review on the Sephora website, but it is written by me personally i just edited it a little bit. 

Maybelline one by one mascara review

So the product i'm reviewing today is latest mascara from the maybelline line of mascaras:  The Maybelline one by one volum express waterproof mascara.  My benefit BADgal lash recently ran out so while picking up some nail polish from the drugstore i came across this mascara and purchased it, hoping it would be a good replacement.

According to the Maybelline website (link below), this mascara provides you with bold without the bulk clump free voluminous lashes.  The lash catcher brush is designed in order to catch each eyelash with 3 bristles to catch, coat and de-clump. 

NOTD Essie's Big Spender

Hey everyone!
Today's nail polish that I'm wearing is Essie's Big Spender.  This is a color i recently purchased and I've only worn twice mainly because I find it to be more of a Fallish color as opposed to a Springy/Summery color.  It's a gorgeous purpley-pink, but it's not at all neon like you may think. I was looking at it earlier and trying to decide if it was more purple or more pink toned but honestly, i couldn't figure it out!  In the container it looks more purple, but once it's on your nails it becomes like the perfect combination of pink and purple. 

It's a nice color for any age and for any occasion.  I like to describe it as sophisticated meets sexy.  What i love about this polish is that it is really opaque and it dries surprisingly quick, like most of the Essie polishes do.  This is definitely a nail polish that I'll be wearing all the time once September comes along.

So, i know I have been neglecting to put reviews on this blog, but it's just because I've been super busy with work and whatnot, not to mention, my camera's charger is missing and my phone doesn't take great quality pictures, so, I'm so sorry!  As a little treat though, I've decided to do a NARS starter kit today.  These are all items that i would recommend as introductory products.
